Have you ever considered that you have something in common with a star?
“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.”
(Psalms 19:1 NKJV)
The Bible teaches that the heavens were created to declare God’s glory and handiwork. In Isaiah 40:36, the prophet tells us that God knows all the stars by name. when you work up into the sky on a clear night and you see thousands of beautiful stars God knows them all in those stars declare his glory. Have you ever thought about that?
Similar to the stars, we (Christians) were created in Jesus Christ for good works and that we should walk in them (see Ephesians 2:10). Consider Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
(Matthew 5:16 NKJV)
Just like the stars shine and declare God’s glory, we were created to shine through our good works and the light that is seen declares God’s glory.
This weekend (October 11-13th) we are having a gospel revival at Concord Church of Christ. Please come visit with us and learn how to shine your light in a way that glorifies God!
